Pun Coffee is a small business located in the commune of the Vietnam-Laos border region in the west of Quang Tri, we don’t only produce and trade in coffee, but also aspire to turn these coffee gardens into biodiversity forests, so that each coffee farmer can own a small forest and can be more active in owning different sources of income from this landscaped coffee garden.

In the past, the coffee plantations were demolished to grow short-term trees, now the people have Pun Coffee by their side in placing large trees to re-plan high-quality coffee areas for 2023.

The Huong Phung Commune People’s Committee and forestry experts have joined with Pun Coffee to re-plan the coffee garden according to the agroforestry strategy, bringing the forest back to the coffee garden.

In order to accompany farmers in planting forest trees to shade coffee trees, building a model to turn a monoculture coffee garden into a biodiversity forest, Pun Coffee has been being side by side with the farmers by:

• Support 100% of the value of the crops,

• Support fertilizer to take care of plants for the first 2 years,

• Especially, we also work with the insurance unit entrusting the development of a crop insurance strategy to ensure the rights of people in the event of losses caused by natural disasters.

In addition, Pun Coffee implements specific support contents such as annual crop care costs, economic development strategies for farming in coffee gardens, and the interests of both companies involved in building the agroforestry coffee gardens, …. are all clearly stated in the principle contract between Pun Coffee – Farmers to ensure that the interests of both companies are consistent from the initial stage to the time when there is exploitation plan.
